Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is now rolling out for Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and Huawei Ascend Mate7.

The main aim of this upgrade was to remove the Stagefright bug in the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini devices, according to BGR. This bug has been plaguing many smartphones recently. This is put into the device in the form of an MMS video. Once the user opens this malicious video, the hackers can get the access to the user's entire information with just one click.

This information can then be used against the user in many ways. Hence, Samsung added a Stagefright patch in the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Aside from the Stagefright bug patch, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will ensure better battery life and enhanced usability in the device for the users.

Samsung had also rolled out the developer's preview version of Android Marshmallow in June.

Following suit, Sony also rolled it out for Sony Xperia Z3, Sony Xperia E3, Sony Xperia Z2, Sony Xperia M2, Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia T2, and Sony Xperia T2 Ultra devices. Thus, all of these devices are expected to get the full version of Android Marshmallow.

On the other hand, Huawei has also rolled out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for its Ascend Mate7 device. This operating system update will bring numerous improvements onto the device along with an update EMUI 3.1.

However, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is only available for just two models of Ascend Mate7, for the MT7-TL10 and MT7-L09 models. The update will be sent over the air to both these devices, according to GSM Arena.
