Capcom has announced a new character for "Street Fighter V" roster, screenshots making rounds online.
Stack of images of newcomer Laura were accidentally shared by Japanese publication Famitsu, which was trying to reveal the images of returning classic character Zangief when the accidental leaked happened.
The Famitsu page was deleted but there were others, such as Japanese website Shukan Umejin, which saw the leaked and eventually took screenshots that made rounds online.
It appears that Laura the mysterious second Brazilian character that game producer Yoshinori Ono teased back in August. Full details about the character will be revealed at the Brazil Game Show from Oct. 8 to 12.
Laura is a brand new character to the series and may possibly use electricity in her attacks. Images suggest that her attacks show influence from the Brazilian jiu-jitsu martial art as opposed to the series' other Brazilian mainstay Blanka, who practices his version of capoeira.
It also showed visual cues pointing to Brazil as the location. Leaked images suggest Laura might share some similarities with Blanka because she uses some lighting-based attacks, including what appears to be some sort of projectile.
The Japanese video game publisher and developer confirmed in the past that they will be adding four brand new characters for "Street Fighter V." The game is in development for PlayStation 4 and PC, and will allow for cross-platform play between both systems.
Currently, "Street Fighter V" does not have a confirmed release date, but Capcom said that it may fall in the first quarter of 2016 for both PS4 and PC.
