Football Transfer Rumors: Juventus Keen On Permanently Signing Chelsea's Juan Cuadrado For £14.8M In January

Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado is currently on loan to Juventus.

Serie A defending champions Juventus is reportedly keen on permanently signing Premier League champs Chelsea's Juan Cuadrado for £14.8 million when the transfer window re-opens this January.

The 27-year old Cuadrado was signed by the Blues in the middle of February this year from Italian club Fiorentina in exchange for midfielder Mohamed Salah on loan and was given a four-and-a-half-year, $23.3 million contract.

Cuadrado played the final few games of the 2014-2015 season for Chelsea but was criticized for not making an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge. Manager Jose Mourinho defended him, saying that "like every player that joins a new club, he needs time" and that the Colombia international will be "amazing next season."

Last August, he was sent on loan to Juventus for a season-long deal that included an option to sign the winger permanently in January. He again performed well in Italy and Massimiliano Allegri is said to be keen on making him stay in Turin, which led to the decision to acquire Cuadrado for good, as per Goal.

Mourinho is allegedly not yet ready to go into talks with Juve regarding the Necoclí, Colombia native as he had pressing on-field issues to attend to at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea had a rough start to their title defense in England and it looks like the chance to repeat is slowly slipping away as the weeks pass.

However, it was also reported that the 52-year-old Portuguese coach is amenable to transfer Cuadrado when the time comes as he had failed to make an impact on Mourinho's squad, via Caught Offside.
