It could be that Google's 2015 flagships - the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P - are far from slaying Apple's iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. But a specific software feature unpacked with Android 6.0 Marshmallow might just do the trick that the hardware failed to do so - Google Now on Tap.

Now on Tap, according to The Wall Street Journal, is Google aiming a nuclear weapon to the iPhone 6S and the resulting scenario is the search giant gaining the upper hand. Siri on iOS 9 displayed vast improvements but "Google Now and Android's new On Tap service are superior to what Apple has attempted in iOS 9," the report added.

It's like that with Now on Tap, Google Now became the nearly perfect smart digital assistant. If a user, for instance, receives an email invite with details on time and location the feature will launch a bevy of options for things that can be done next - mark the date on the calendar or get a peek of the venue with the help of Google apps like Calendar and Maps.

But what could really hook Android device users to Now on Tap is its incredible intelligence. Joanna Stern of The Journal shared that while on an article about Hillary Clinton the powerful Android M feature presented to her related information about the politician, including links to her social media accounts.

It was like that users are engaged in a conversation when using Now on Tap and solid of proof of that was when Stern asked about Clinton's age, the app supplied the correct answer with the question "How old is she now?" Clearly, Now on Tap was totally connected with Stern and recognized that 'she' referred to Hillary Clinton.

Stern observed that Apple will need to work harder for Siri to at least equal what Google Now on Tap can do. First thing that the iPhone maker needs to is match the prowess of the Google search engine, which powers and feeds the information that Google Now delivers.

The Verge agrees with The Journal report, saying in a review that Now on Tap serves as steroid that indeed makes Marshmallow quite powerful. That power lies on the promise that users can do much more right inside a single application shell.

With Now on Tap embedded with the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and other Android devices that will upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Google has a formidable iPhone 6S killer and one way that it is a giant slayer is Now on Tap opens up purchasing options, which definitely is good business for Google, The Verge said.
