"Guardians of the Galaxy's" Dave Bautista has expressed his interest on a crossover between the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Bautista plays the tough member of the Guardians, Drax the Destroyer, in James Gunn's Marvel Comics film "Guardians of the Galaxy." In his interview with Screen Rant, Bautista said that while the crossover between the two teams had been a rumor, he prayed everyday so that Drax would become part of the Avengers. He added that he hoped that it would happen.
Director Gunn emphasized before the difference in the team's territories. In Dec. 2014, Gunn told Screen Junkies that the Guardians were separate from the Avengers. He said that the Guardians were set to defend the universe while the Avengers should think about protecting the earth.
While the cosmic heroes will not be isolated from Marvel's Cinematic Universe, it is assumed that Gunn's priority is to build the cosmos.
Meanwhile, Bautista is set to reprise his role in Gunn's upcoming Marvel Comics film sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2," along with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillian, Michael Rooker, among others.
On the other hand, the Earth's Mightiest Heroes are set to appear in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's forthcoming Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War." Following the release of the Accords, the film will see Captain America clash with Iron Man due to their perceptive differences.
Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 5, 2017 while the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
