During the Chinese traditional festival, every embassy sent out greetings on Weibo. However, the similar greetings received entirely different responses.

On New Year Eve, the U.S. Embassy in China wrote on Weibo, "Gold snakes are dancing out the old year, and ten thousand horses are galloping to welcome the New Year! The U.S. Embassy in China wishes everyone happy new year, family happiness, leading the field, and every success."

This weibo has been forwarded almost 50 thousand times at one night, and the most repeated comment was "Repay immediately!" Some people joked, "We hope Americans work hard in the new year and pay the money back as soon as possible. If it is too hard to repay, take Washington to pay in kind." Some other people commented, "you molest the U.S. like this; does Obama know?"

Similarly, the Japan Embassy in China posted greetings on Weibo from Kite Masahito, "Happy New Year, everyone. I am the Japan Embassy in China, Kite Masahito. Does everyone get home safely? Are you enjoying the time of reunion with family? Today, my coworkers are still working. They will take holidays from tomorrow. At the time of Chinese New Year, on behalf of the Japan Embassy in China, I wish everyone Happy Chinese New Year, family happiness and peace. "

If it was a joke that the U.S. received the press of payment, then the Japan Embassy received much more direct responses. Among over 10 thousand forwarded messages, the most comment was one sentence, "Diaoyu Island belongs to China." A people called "Duxiayizhao" said, "for the friendships between China and Japan, I hope Japan can reflect on history, face up to the present; respect the national sentiments of Chinese people, stop visiting Yasukuni Shrine, return Chinese territory." This rational comment received many supports.

Compared with the hot Weibo from the U.S. and Japan, the official Weibo of Russia was not so popular. The Weibo wrote, "The Russia Embassy in China wishes Chinese friends happy New Year, good health, good luck in everything in the year of horse." Even though it was not forwarded many times, the 80% comments of it was a simple, "Happy New Year."
