Jessica Jung from Girls' Generation

Girls' Generation alum Jessica Jung wanted to return to the K-pop group only to be turned away by her friends. The singer reportedly changed her mind and decided to stay, however, the members thought that she was not fully committed and had to let her go.

According to Koreaboo, Girls' Generation has already planned their farewell concert and thought that letting Jung stay would only ruin it. It was said that "Catch Me If You Can" was supposed to be her farewell song but they eventually decided that "Divine" was more suitable. The insider added that Jung's decision to leave the group ruined the single and the members had to record the "CMIYC" again after the concert.

It was said that Jung changed her mind and decided that she no longer wanted to leave the group. The members, however, believed that she did not have what it takes to be part of the group, adding that she never gave it her all in the past performances.

In September, Jung shared on her Weibo account that she was surprised to found out that she was no longer part of Girls' Generation. The singer said that she was excited to be part of the upcoming events only to find out that she is no longer a GG member.

Jung held that she was "devastated," wondering why she was being kicked out from the group with no justifiable reason. She added that it has always been her priority to love and serve her teammates.

Girls' Generation recently renewed their contract with SM Entertainment.
