Cameron Monaghan is Jerome Valeska in "Gotham" Season 2.

"Gotham" showrunner Bruno Heller has shared his thoughts on Jerome Valeska's death in FOX's "Gotham" Season 2 Episode 3.

Season 2 Episode 3 is entitled "The Last Laugh" and saw Valeska's demise in the hands of Theo Galavan. In his interview with Nerdist, Heller said that the show would give "concrete" answers to Valeska's identity as well as a big revelation on the origin and nature of the Clown Prince of Gotham and the myth surrounding his identity.

According to Variety, fans have begun to speculate that Valeska is the Joker in the pre-Batman realm after his introduction in the last season. In the episode, however, Galvan stabbed Valeska in the throat for Gotham's elite to see him as a savior, though he is not. As a result, the incident erased fans' hopes that Valeska is going to be Batman's adversary.

Also known as "Rise of the Villains," "Gotham" Season 2 centers on the origin stories of some of Batman's notable adversaries, such as The Riddler, Mr. Freeze, and The Joker. It is also set to see Wayne unveil more secrets from his father's past.

Cameron Monaghan played Valeska in the series. Aside from him, "Gotham" Season 2 main cast include Michael Chiklis, Jessica Lucas, James Frain, Morena Baccarin, Chris Chalk, Nicholas D'Agosto, Drew Powell, Cory Michael Smith, Camren Bicondova, Erin Richards, Robin Lord Taylor, Sean Pertwee, Zabryna Guevarra, David Mazouz, Donal Logue, and Ben McKenzie.

"Gotham" Season 2 Episode 3, which is entitled "The Last Laugh" aired on Oct. 5 while Episode 4 "Strike Force" is set to hit the television on Oct. 12.
