Although a Facebook Dislike button is highly doubtful, the social network has begun to roll out its new Reactions feature to complement the iconic Like button. The social media giant announced on October 8, Thursday that the emoji-based responses to posts would be launched for limited Facebook users on Friday.

Facebook's Reactions is basically an extension of the Like button. The feature works on any post where the button is located.

Users can long-press the Like button on mobile devices, or use their CPU mouse to hover over it on Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or other desktop browser.

A panel will then open up, showing six reactions that users can add to their post. They include Like, Love, Haha, Yay, Wow, Sad, and Anger, according to Mashable.

Each Facebook Reaction is paired with an emoji. It will be shown beside the number of Likes, below a post.

Users can only add one Reaction and corresponding emoticon to a particular post. For example, they cannot add a Like and Love, or a Sad and Anger.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced last month at a public Q&A session that the social network believed that its users should have more options than Like. For years users had asked for a Dislike button.

Zuckerberg explained that not every moment is a good one. He wanted to give users a quick way to emote and share their feelings when making a post.

Facebook's Reactions feature is being tested in Ireland and Spain, according to CBS Los Angeles.

The company's Like button was launched in 2009. It had also considered using a heart, stars, and green thumbs up.
