Specs and features of the recently released 2015 tablets -Surface Pro 4 and iPad Pro - reveal that Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is superior.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Apple iPad Pro have been among the most-anticipated tablets for 2015. While both tablets have already been launched and are yet to hit the shelves, there are clear distinctions in features that will make you opt for the Surface Pro 4 come the end of this month.

Although the iPad Pro may appear superior in terms of the screen and display, sporting a 12.9-inch Retina display with 2732 × 2048 pixel resolution and 264 ppi, Surface Pro 4's 12.3-inch Pixel Sense display with 2736 × 1824 pixel resolution is better because of its 267 ppi.

In terms of their processor and RAM, the Surface Pro 4 is better than Apple's iPad Pro. Whereas the Surface Pro 4 has Skylake Core processor that can be scaled up to i5 or i7, the iPad Pro runs on an A9X processor.

According to Mac Rumors, Adobe accidentally listed that the iPad Pro comes with a 4GB RAM, which is similar to the Surface Pro 4. The difference is that when it comes to the Surface pro 4, the RAM can be upgraded up to 16GB.

With regard to the cameras, the current Surface tablet sports a 5MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera. However, the iPad Pro comes with just a 1.2MP FaceTime camera and an 8MP iSight camera.

The iPad Pro comes with 32GB or 128GB internal storage capacity but there is no room for expansion. However, in addition to the Surface Pro 4 having 128GB internal storage capacity, the tablet is also available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage variants and the storage capacity can be expanded through a microSD card.

Apple has laso introduced a stylus called Apple Pencil but customers have to spend more to purchase the Apple Pencil separately at $99. This is unlike the Surface Pro 4 which comes with a free stylus.

A relieve for the iPad Pro comes in at the level of pricing. According to Microsoft, the based model Surface Pro 4 will come with a price tag of $899, which is $100 more expensive than the base model of iPad Pro that will cost customers $799.

Clients can purchase the Surface Pro 4 at the end of this October, while those going for the iPad Pro will have to wait for one more month since the gadget is expected to start shipping in November.

Both devices, Surface Pro 4 and iPad Pro, possess top-notch features, but specs like a microSD card slot, larger storage capacity, upgradable RAM, and a better front camera give the Surface Pro 4 an upper hand.
