"Terror" attacks by Palestinian Arabs directed against Jews in Jerusalem have reached a record high, alleges the Israeli Defense Forces.

Israel Army Radio, also called IDF Radio, said Jewish residents of Jerusalem were victims of 157 separate terror-related incidents in March. It said the number was a record in attacks by Palestinian Arab terrorists and that terror attacks against Jewish Israelis have been on the rise in Jerusalem.

IDF Radio said there were 150 terror attacks against Jewish Israelis in February and 140 in January. On average, Israeli Jews are attacked 2.5 times per day each month by Palestinian Arabs. The number of monthly attacks has not fallen below 80 since November 2012.

The number of attacks is highest near Jewish holy sites. Eight in 10 of the attacks include throwing projectiles with two percent of these projectiles being firebombs or Molotov cocktails.  Most attacks, however, caused no injuries or damage.

The continuing spate of attacks has led to criticism of Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovich.

A study released last December by the Israeli spy agency Shin Bet said the increase in terror attacks across Israel is also linked to the peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
