Marvel's tiniest superhero Ant-Man is set to hit the big screen with The Wasp in Marvel's "Ant-Man and the Wasp."

According to Marvel's official website, the "Ant-Man" sequel would mark the very first Marvel Studios film named after its heroine. The upcoming film is set to pick up from the events in Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man," now that fans have learned that Dr. Hank Pym gave the Wasp's suit to his daughter Hope Van Dyne. The Wasp is set to team up with Scott Lang with their new adventures.

The inclusion of "Ant-Man and the Wasp" to Marvel's film timeline has rippled the release dates of other upcoming Marvel films. For instance, F. Gary Gray's "Black Panther" has been moved to Feb. 16, 2018 while Marvel's "Captain Marvel" has been placed on Mar. 8, 2019 slot. Meanwhile, the studio also announced that three untitled films are slated to premiere on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and Nov. 6, 2020.

Released on Jul. 17, Reed's "Ant-Man" followed Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" as one of the biggest blockbusters this year. "Ant-Man" has grossed an estimated $409.5 million worldwide, placing it as the ninth film of the year domestically while "Avengers: Age of Ultron" has made an estimated worldwide gross of $1.4 billion, making it the second highest grossing film after "Jurassic World."

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" will see the return of Paul Rudd as Lang/Ant-Man and Evangeline Lily as van Dyne/The Wasp. Prior to the upcoming film, fans are set to see Marvel's tiniest superhero in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's forthcoming film "Captain America: Civil War." With the Wasp along Ant-Man, the sequel is assumed to soar to greater heights, as per Cinema Blend.

Ant-Man is set to team up with Captain America, Hawkeye, Falcon, and Agent 13. They will oppose Iron Man's team, which reportedly includes Black Widow, War Machine, The Vision, and Black Panther. Spider-Man is also set to appear in the film; however, no information yet as to which side he is in. Meanwhile, the Wasp's inclusion in the film is yet to be revealed.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 6, 2018 while the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
