Electronic Arts (EA) has announced three new modes for “Star Wars: Battlefront,” including new details about the Season Pass that will cover incoming downloadable content.
The three modes include Hero Hunt, Cargo, and Droid Run. “Star Wars: Battlefront” is shaping up to be more than a shiny mod of the Battlefield series, but when it comes to DLC and post-launch content, developer EA gets inspiration from their long-running shooter franchise, Forbes reported.
The first new mode is the Hero Hunt. It is centered on the most powerful character of the universe, with one player becoming one of the heroes or villains and the other seven starting off as regular troopers.
Those who kill a Hero become him and the mode is built around allowing players to fulfill their Star Wars driven power fantasies.
The second mode is Cargo. It takes on classic Capture the Flag, with teams trying to get into each other's bases in order to get access to cargo and return it to their own lair. Players will not have to worry about protecting their own precious items, which means that only the quantity accumulated before the end of the match matters.
The last mode is Droid Run that evolves around three GNKs, which are present on the battlefield and need to be located and controlled before the end of the 10-minute round. Six players are able to coordinate in order to complete the mission, but they will not be able to use Heroes and vehicles, which means careful communication and solid teamwork are required in order to win.
The sci-fi shooting game offers DLC pass for $50, according to Gamespot. It entitles the players to four future “expansion packs” and the ability to jump into the new DLC two weeks ahead of the general public. They will also secure a unique Shoot First emote they can use in “Star Wars: Battlefront.”
EA will also offer an access to Ultimate Edition for “Star Wars: Battlefront,” which includes all the content from the Deluxe Version as well as the Season Pass.
“Star Wars: Battlefront” will be available to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It is slated to arrive completely on Nov. 17.
