In this recent merry-go-round of world football coaches, former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is ready to take over from Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich as the latter has reportedly accepted the coaching job at Manchester City next season.

The Daily Express noted that Guardiola, 44, has already agreed with City officials that he will replace Manuel Pellegrini when his current contract with Bayern expires at the end of the current season, which is why he has not sought an extension with the Munich club.

With that, the Bavarians have called the experienced Ancelotti, who has also previously coached Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, as their new manager at Allianz Arena starting next season.

The 56-year-old former Italy international was also linked to Liverpool following Brendan Rodgers sacking, but it was former Borussia Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp who recently got the job in Anfield.

However, Metro indicated that the Bundesliga champions have not surrendered on its bid to keep Guardiola to their side even as reports of him finalizing an informal agreement with the Etihad residents have emerged. Bayern management is reportedly preparing a still undisclosed but allegedly substantial contract extension for the Spanish manager in an effort to lure him to stay in Germany.

Guardiola is responsible for Der FCB's back-to-back Bundesliga wins in his two seasons as the team's head coach.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti led Real Madrid to the Copa del Rey title in 2014 as well as wins in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup all in that same season before he was sacked by the Bernabéu giants the following year.
