Premier League 2015-2016: West Brom vs Sunderland, Preview, Prediction & Predicted Lineup

| Oct 15, 2015 11:22 AM EDT

Saido Berahino of West Bromwich Albion (R) and Jason Puncheon of Crystal Palace battle for the ball during their recent match.

Struggling teams West Bromwich Albion (2-4-2, 8 points) and Sunderland (0-5-3, 3 points) are scheduled to face one another for a 2015-2016 Premier League encounter at the Hawthorns on Saturday, October 17.

West Brom is currently placed fourth from the bottom of the league table with only two wins to boot in the first eight weeks of domestic competitions. Their last game was a 0-2 loss in the hands of Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park before the international break, as reported by BBC Sport.

The Eagles' midfielders Yannick Bolasie and Yohan Cabaye scored one goal each to snag the three points away from Tony Pulis's squad.

While the Baggies are reeling, Sunderland is even worse as they have not won any game in the current season after eight tries.

With veteran manager Sam Allardyce taking over the reins from sacked head coach Dick Advocaat, the Black Cats are hoping for a turnaround this early in the season.

Advocaat's last match at the Stadium of Light resulted in a 2-2 draw with top team West Ham United, via Chronicle Live.

Sunderland was actually set to snatch their first win after going up 2-0 from a nice shot from Jeremain Lens at the 20th minute. However, the Dutch winger was sent off in the second half and from there West Ham clawed back to tie the count with an equalizer from Dimitri Payet at the hour mark.

Even with the excitement of a new coach, the Black Cats will still have to adjust before they can get their first win.

The predicted result is a win for West Brom over Sunderland, 1-0.

West Brom starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Myhill; Dawson, Brunt, Evans, McAuley; Yacob, Morrison, Fletcher; Berahino, Rondón, McClean

Sunderland starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Pantilimon; Yedlin, Coates, O'Shea, Jones; Lens, Toivonen; Cattermole, M'Vila, Borini; Fletcher
