"The Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley recently hinted on the possibility of Nina Dobrev reprising her role as Elena Gilbert for the very last time.
In an interview with TV Insider, the actor who plays the role of Stefan Salvatore, said that it seems there is no chance for Dobrev to return to the hit The CW series.
"Elena is still a very big part of the story. Her body's in danger in the first few episodes, and Damon is doing everything he can to make sure she is safe until she wakes up," he said.
During a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ian Somerhalder also dished on the possibility of seeing Dobrev return to the series.
"There's still a lot of elements of the show that was. There's still very much the presence of Elena. This is Mystic Falls without her. This is the evolution of the story. There's a lot of great interactions with the brothers," he said.
In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 premiered earlier this month, and fans had a first look at Lily's (Annie Wersching) Heretics.
A slew of new characters have also been introduced on the show, and fans can expect their storylines to unfold in the upcoming episodes.
Additionally, fans will also find out who Bonnie's (Kat Graham) new love interest will be. Some fans are speculating that it could be Michael Malarkey's Enzo.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
