Cloud Imperium has recently responded to rumors over the studio closures. The cast of "Star Citizen" Squadron will include Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, & Gillian Anderson among others, according to Cloud Imperium's CitizenCon 2015 weekend.
A wide range of actors have lent their voices and avatars to the space stimulation project, with Gary Oldman playing the role of Admiral Bishop, which is the first character of Squadron 42, IGN reported.
The other cast members include Ben Mendelsohn, Harry Treadway, Andy Serkis, Mark Strong, John Rhys - Davies and others.
During CitizenCon 2015, which is the game's annual fan convention, the single players mode and the cast was announced.
Due to the face mapping technology used in the game, the actors' likenesses will also be seen in the game, according to Den of Geek.
On the game's website, gamers can also find out the latest with its Star Marine module. Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) claims this will help backers despite changes in the organization and rumors their studios are shutting down.
Other aspects of the game's ongoing development have been outlined in the September Monthly Studio Report which has been released recently.
Crowdfunding for the popular space simulation is at US$92 and it is known as the most backed project to date. As 2015 ends, CIG is looking forward to get US$100 million.
"Star Citizen" has been receiving a lot of criticisms of late. Roberts, the game's creator recently responded to claims the game has too many features and lacks quality. He is also known to be the brains behind the "Wings Commander" series of Origin Systems.
