"The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev reportedly wants to veer away from her role as Elena Gilbert on the hit The CW series.

Dobrev played the role of Elena for the past six seasons before ultimately leaving the series to pursue other projects.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the actress doesn't want to be typecast in roles that are similar to that of Elena on "The Vampire Diaries."

With this, the actress has become very picky when it comes to the new projects she will be involved in.

Meanwhile, "The Final Girls" actress recently explained her decision to leave "The Vampire Diaries" after six seasons.

According to her, she knew that Elena's journey was bound to end after six years. She added that she also contemplated about exiting the franchise before ultimately deciding to tell executive producer Julie Plec that it was time for her to leave.

In other news, some fans of "The Vampire Diaries" are now saying that Dobrev is ungrateful to Plec for giving her the opportunity to be on the show.

This was immediately slammed by Plec and Dobrev's co-stars who all said that they understand why Dobrev felt that she should pursue other things.

Meanwhile, despite leaving the show, it seems that Dobrev will always be remembered as the actress who gave life to the character of Elena, and one of the actresses who introduced the concept of doppelgangers on primetime television.

Just recently, she was photographed with her real-life doppelganger Victoria Justice, according to Design N Trend.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
