‘Batman V Superman’ Rumors: Christian Bale Is Bruce Wayne, Not Ben Affleck In A Fan Theory That May Have Got It Right!

Christian Bale

An intense fan theory states that Ben Affleck is not actually Bruce Wayne since there already is a Bruce Wayne in that universe-Christian Bale.

An abridged version of the theory was posted on Movie Pilot by "Rick" who identified himself as a "Brazilian pop culture specialists" on his own site, Total Spoilers.

The theory states that Ben Affleck is actually Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke who assumed the Batman cowl in DC's New 52, which, the author argues, is the basis for the DC Extended Universe.

Rick noted in Movie Pilot that Warner Bros. have used the tactic of misdirection many times before.

"Before 'Batman Begins' was released, it was reported that Liam Neeson would play Henry Ducard and Ken Watanabe would play Ras al ghul. Of course, now we know that Ken Watanabe was a puppet and Liam neeson was the real Ras al ghul. But at the time, Watanabe even gave interviews as if he were playing Ras al ghul."

The same could apply for Ben Affleck claiming to be Bruce Wayne/Batman.

He also noted that Ben Affleck was "visually inspired" by the Deathstroke Batman. "Why would Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne/Batman be visually inspired by a comic where Batman is not Bruce Wayne? Again, its because Ben Affleck is not Wayne, he is Deathstroke aka Slade Wilson."

Another point is the video game "Injustice Gods Among Us" where there's a "Superman evil ..." that becomes a global dictator after the destruction of metropolis and we have Deathstroke."

Rick's point: "Each character has their phrases written to be spoken during the fight, one of Deathstroke phrases is 'I'll make you bleed.' That's pretty much the same phrase that Ben Affleck tells in movie: 'Do you bleed? You will.'"

The arguments are long, detailed and extensive and may even be convincing although the evidence presented are circumstantial at best. It is highly unlikely that Warner will ever confirm or even dignify this theory.

Could it be possible that Rick has figured it all out?
