Gwen Stefani Debuts New Heartbreaking Video 'Used to Love You' After Recent Divorce

Gwen Stefani has just released a new song and music video titled "Used to Love You" and you can tell by the singer's expressions that it was all raw emotions coming from a tragic heartbreak.

The song is reportedly inspired by the Stefani's recent divorce to Gavin Rossdale, her husband for 13 years, Ryanseacrest reported.

The couple has three sons namely Kingston (9), Zuma (6), and Apollo (1). In a joint statement, the couple said that they have mutually decided to part ways but will remain committed to raising their sons in a happy and healthy environment.

Rossdale has already requested for joint custody of their children.

The music video is different from other No Doubt videos you've seen. The entire four minutes features Stefani up close expressing different emotions mostly in despair, Rolling Stone reported.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Stefani admitted that she scrapped an entire album because it didn't feel right and she didn't feel fulfilled.

And then the divorce happened. She said that she needed to go through that to write the songs she needed to express in the new album. She added that all the songs she wrote came about naturally.

Stefani explained that they're not a result of worry about what has happened to her or worry about the future. It's all about being present and trying to feel.

You will see in the music video how she commanded the entire frame, allowing the viewer to see through her brokenness and grief. But you can also see the inner strength that she has.

Stefani is currently one of the judges in the latest season of "The Voice." She takes turns with Cristina Aguilera.
