Kelly Clarkson announced that she is expecting a baby boy.

The 33-year-old singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson announced that she is expecting a baby boy on her Instagram account in Oct. 23, Friday.

With the picture of Clarkson's 16-month old baby girl River on a slide, the singer placed a caption that reads, "In other news, River's gonna have a little baby brother :) #itsaboy We're so excited!" as reported by Mirror UK. With River's image catching the attention of Instagram users first, the announcement appeared to be a gem hidden in plain sight.

After two years of marriage, the songstress' unborn baby is her second child with husband Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson is not only a mother-to-be and a mother to River, but she also acts as a stepmother to the children of Blackstock from his earlier marriage.

Before sharing the good news on social media, the singer previously and rather unexpectedly announced her pregnancy during a concert at the Staples Center in August. The 33-year-old said, "I was not planning on announcing this. I'm totally pregnant again," as reported by Entertainment Tonight.

In addition to her pregnancy, Clarkson experienced vocal strain and was advised by her doctors to cancel her concert tours in Canada, Europe and the US for rest. Despite her condition, the proud mom did not hesitate to be vocal in social media with her posts on River and about her son-to-be.

Not only is she going to be a mother again, but Clarkson has also formed another collaboration with singer Ben Haenow, the Season 11 winner of "The X Factor." Their new song "Second Hand Heart" has already been released on YouTube on Oct.23, Friday.

There is currently no information available as to whether the "Piece by Piece Tour" of the season one American Idol winner will push through in selected countries within the year. Possible baby names for the child have also not been released.
