Fans have been eagerly awaiting updates for the upcoming instalment of "Kingdom Hearts," as announced in the D23 Expo in Japan.

"Kingdom Hearts" franchise avid fans have been waiting eagerly for the third installment of the action role-playing video game. The decade-long expectation might finally be clarified come November.

Disney plans to hold a D23 Expo Japan 2015 on Nov. 6 to 8, but prior to the event, there will be a "Kingdom Hearts" fan event slated for Nov. 3.

According to a statement released via the Disney Japan website, the details and video concerning the upcoming title "Kingdom Heart III" will be revealed during the fan event. Furthermore, there will be information on the speculated characters to feature in the game as well as multiplayer details.

Reportedly, a rumored multiplayer mode of the game emerged short after an Osaka-based Game Designer of Square Enix updated his LinkedIn profile, pointing out that part of his roles for "Kingdom Hearts III" is "Multiplayer Planning and Documentation." Also, new playable characters for the game are rumored to feature.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Games TM, director Tetsuya Nomura was skeptical to confirm the possibility of having new characters.

Nomura said, "It's a secret but by saying that we imply that maybe something's going on. We can't disclose anything but, maybe, something will happen there."

The multiplayer gaming might not be the traditional style of the franchise since it is already successful. However, having new characters does not necessarily imply having a multiplayer function, for example the PSP title "Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep" that has three main characters with a connected storyline.

It is possible to integrate a co-op mode in the upcoming game where groups can play collaboratively using different characters.

"Kingdom Hearts III" will be available for PS4 and Xbox One upon release.
