New photos released by NASA show that Pluto, a dwarf planet located along the Kuiper Belt beyond Neptune, has blue skies and red frozen water. The images were taken by the unmanned New Horizons probe, which made a flyby of Pluto in July. Scientists used a spectral composition mapper to identify signatures of water ice on various parts of the dwarf planet.
