Gamers are in the spooky Halloween mood these days, which naturally infects the GTA 5 community that has been expecting a touch of the upcoming holiday for the game. Now rumors say that a treat will come unpacking soon in the form of GTA 5 Undead Nightmare DLC.
Sadly, the promised treat turns out to be more of a trick as iDigitalTimes reported that the game holiday expansion is a hoax. The online publication pointed to a YouTube content provider named DomIsLive as source of information. While Dom is not exactly trusted in the GTA 5 circle, as he allegedly provided false details in the past, the latest info seems solid enough.
The Undead Nightmare label already sets off an alarm as the report indicates that it's highly unlikely that Rockstar will use something that is easily identifiable with a different game title, specifically called Red Dead Redemption. There could be an Undead DLC that is being prepared for GTA 5 gamers but the rumors about the Undead Nightmare DLC will stay in the same state - a rumor.
And it defies logic that GTA 5 will take in successive new contents just for a single occasion just to set it aside when the holiday fever dies down.
So as October marches to its final days, the streams of speculations on what Rockstar will unleash soon to make the GTA 5 a step closer to the prevailing holiday atmosphere will only continue, iDigitalTimes said.
One example is the planned release of game mode expansion called Slasher Adversary Mode, which is designed as a Survival mission that pits the Hunted against the Slasher. The latter, iDigitalTimes said, wields a shotgun in trying to corner the Hunted and perhaps blast the enemy to pieces.
In order to survive, the Hunted, aided only by a flashlight, must avoid being detected by the Slasher within a given time. Once time has ran out, it will be a level killing field as the Hunted gains a shotgun. This thrilling GTA 5 content addition, the report said, is more likely to come true considering that the leak came from tipster with a solid reputation.
Also in time for Halloween, up to 13 masks are expected to arrive along with Halloween-themed rides. And there are reports that some players were able to access these contents, which was a glitch that Rockstar swiftly remedied with a hot fix, the report added.
Rides, masks and missions pertaining to the coming Halloween should make up the rumored GTA 5 DLC but to date Rockstar is not saying a single word. And in its silence, the rumors - wild as they are - will only continue to swirl, iDigitalTimes said.
