Because his friend Christopher Paquin was allegedly showing signs of zombie behavior, Damon Perry of Prewitt, New Mexico, killed Paquin on Thursday after the two of them binge-watched "The Walking Dead."

CinemaBlend reports that Perry was charged with murder on Monday, according to the Grants Police Department. He admitted to investigators that he was drinking large amounts of alcohol. However, Grants detective Moses Marquez said it is unclear what was the blood alcohol content of Perry, reports Daily Beast.

The 23-year-old Perry hit Paquin, also 23, with a guitar and microwave, reports The Guardian. In contrast, characters at "The Walking Dead" kill each other by punching, kicking and using sharp-edged objects. CinemaBlend notes that the Sunday night episode had one of the craziest moments, but Perry did not imitate that episode because he killed his friend on Thursday.

Police were called to Prewitt on Thursday afternoon after they received a report that a drunk man, apparently Perry, chasing a woman with a knife. However, two maintenance workers managed to hold Perry down on the ground.

But by then Paquin was already lifeless, and police declared him dead, according to Marquez who considers the incident one of the "weirdest and most gruesome" murders he knew.

Perry is now detained at the Cibola County jail with an $800,000 cash bond attached. The preliminary hearing for his murder charge is scheduled on Nov. 3.

The entertainment website adds, "I'd hate to think what would have happened if they were watching entire seasons of American Horror Story."
