Adele's comeback song "Hello," is reported to have an interesting similarity with Lionel Richie's "Hello" video. The Four-time Grammy winner noticed and posted a screenshot of him in his video, alongside Adele's and a message on Instagram.

"HELLO @adele is it me you're looking for . . . #hello" Richie posted. Adele responded to Richie's message during her interview with Nick Grimshaw on the BBC Radio 1's Breakfast Show with a suggestion that she and Lionel should "definitely do something like a competitive hello-off," thus, the birth of the mash-up video of their two tracks that went viral.

Similarity between the two "Hello" tracks:

The Title. The similarity is obvious. The title of both artists' hit songs is, "Hello."

The Phone Theme. Both artists had a phone and appear to be having a conversation with someone on the other end of the line. The difference lies in the type of phone used - Adele had a controversial flip phone while Richie had a much older phone model.

The Emotional Melody. Both songs are ballads that are overpowered with emotion. Adele's new video shows her fixing tea while reminiscing about her ex while singing, "So hello from the other side. I must have called a thousand times. To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done"

Adele's 3-year hibernation period is over and she comes back with a bang with her new single titled "Hello" that has reportedly generated over 25 million views on YouTube within 24 hours. Her upcoming album 25 will include this controversial single and is set to be released on November 20 this year.
