One individual and two organizations received this year's Great Wall Chinese-Hungarian Friendship Awards during a ceremony in Parliament on Monday, according to a Xinhua News Agency report.

Bin Yunsong, CEO of the Hungarian branch of Chinese electronics giant Huawei; the Hungarian-Chinese Dual Language School; and the International Chan Wu Federations were given the awards for their significant contribution to strengthening Chinese-Hungarian ties, the report said.

During a speech, Bin said that he believes it is his personal calling to promote the commercial ties between China and Hungary.

Zsuzsanna Erdelyi, principal of the Hungarian-Chinese Dual Language School, meanwhile, said that the award is an acknowledgment of the school's efforts toward nurturing bilateral relations.

Wang Deqing, chief of Chan Wu Federation, a group that unifies Zen Buddhism and martial arts, made a reference to the numerous Nobel Prize winners Hungary has produced and the important inventions of Hungarians.

Hungary is a "wise country, a place where one can rest and think," Wang said.

The awarding ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijarto, Great Wall Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association head Lajos Olah and China's Ambassador to Hungary Xiao Qian.

Szijarto said that on the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Hungary and China, the relations between the two countries had not been as good and successful as they are now.

The official described the cooperation with China as an important part of Hungary's strategy of opening to Asia.

The China-Hungarian Friendship Awards was established last year by the Great Wall Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association and 11 other organizations.
