Premier League 2015-2016: Bournemouth vs Newcastle United Preview, Prediction & Predicted Lineup

| Nov 02, 2015 10:13 PM EST

Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrović competes for the ball against Stoke City's Erik Pieters.

Reeling squad AFC Bournemouth (2-7-2, 8 points) will try to avoid its fourth straight defeat in the 2015-2016 Premier League season as it faces equally struggling club Newcastle United (1-6-4, 7 points) at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, November 7.

Last season's The Championship winners had been struggling to find a victory lately as they were winless in their last five matches, losing four and drawing one.

The Cherries dropped a 2-0 decision to Southampton on Sunday at the St. Mary's Stadium as the Saints' Steven Davis and Graziano Pelle scored a goal each in the first half to bury Eddie Howe's side early in the game, as per SkySports.

Boscombe could not answer back with any goals even when Southampton defender Victor Wanyama was sent off at the 78th minute after receiving a second yellow card for excessive tackling.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United pulled off a goalless draw against Stoke City at the St. James Park last Saturday to add another point to their tally in the overall standings, via The Guardian.

Steve McClaren's boys remain in the bottom three of the league table, however, only a point above Sunderland and three points ahead of cellar-dweller Aston Villa.

The Magpies will look to overcome the Cherries in this encounter of two struggling teams on Saturday as they try to take advantage of Bournemouth's low morale heading into the match.

A win would propel McClaren's side out of the bottom three, possible overtaking another club up the standings aside from Boscombe.

The prediction is a close 1-0 win for Newcastle United.

Bournemouth starting lineup (4-4-1-1 formation): Federici; Distin, Francis, Smith, Daniels; Gosling, Pugh, Surman, Ritchie; Arter, Murray

Newcastle United starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Elliot; Janmaat, Dummett, Mbemba, Coloccini; Tioté, Anita, Wijnaldum, Sissoko; Pérez, Mitrovic
