Steph Curry Drops 53 Points Against Anthony Davis and Pelicans

Steph Curry is out to prove that their championship run is no fluke. The reigning MVP dropped 53 points against Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans.

In the third quarter alone he scored 28 points and you will see each shot in the video below. The Golden State Warriors won the game 134-120, Slam Online reported.

Meanwhile, the entire Pelican team scored 26 points that quarter.

Curry also hit 9 three-pointers adding to his already impressive performance.

The 27-year-old Warrior had already killed the Pelicans in their season-opener with his 40 points and he did the same against James Harden and the Houston Rockets dropping 25 points, according to Bleacher Report.

Curry is reportedly the first player since 2009 to score at least 50 points and 9 three-pointers in one game. The first player who did that was Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade.

His third quarter performance is also the most by any player after Klay Thompson did the same thing against the Sacramento Kings, dropping 37 points.

Steph was one-point shy of his career-high 54 points. He was 17-for-27 that night, making his game all the more remarkable.

Many are doubting the championship run of the Warriors. Coach Doc Rivers even said that the team were "lucky" that they didn't go against the Clippers or the Spurs.

Curry is now on a mission to prove them all wrong. If his last three games were any indication, he's already gotten the point across.

Golden State is hosting Mark Gasol and Memphis Grizzlies tonight at the very loud Oracle Arena.
