During her visit in China, Netherlands's Queen Maxima expressed her awe in the country's action on building a better inclusive financial system for people around the world.

The Dutch queen said on the last day of her five-day visit at the UN briefing that she was impressed on how committed China is and how it convinced other countries to be come forward in "being more creative and client-centric."

Queen Maxima, as it was her first time to visit China, went to the country as the UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. She was warmly welcomed by the Chinese government upon her arrival.

The queen held meetings with representatives from different financial institutions, including top officials of China's central bank, the national bank regulator, the People's Bank of China and the China Banking Regulatory Commission.

Further, Queen Maxima said in her speech to the National School of Development at the Beijing University that it is important to note that owners of households and small businesses should have access to basic financial services. She said that this should apply to every economy of any level of development.

To have some idea of the situation of China's small entrepreneurs, the queen checked on a noodle restaurant in Beijing to see its access to financial services.

In Sept. 2009, Queen Maxima was appointed as UN advocate because of her notable experience in banking. Her goal is to forge universal access of households and enterprises to financial services in 2030.
