Cristiano Ronaldo's new film is something of a vanity project

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to release his film on Nov. 9 whose tagline is astonishing, intimate and definitive.

The film is directed by a British documentary producer who was behind the award-winning documentary "Amy" and "Senna," Anthony Wonke. The film is said to have taken 14 months to produce. The film is produced by Paul Martin and the music is composed by Walter Christian Mair. The film is to run for 1hour 42 minutes and is rated PG-13.

The movie develops chronologically from childhood days and how Ronaldo left his home of Madeira to Lisbon at the age of 12 to join Sporting Lisbon. His mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro explains that Ronaldo was an unwanted child, The Guardian reported. She goes on to explain how she considered an abortion, and on advice from her neighbor she drank boiled black beer before running hoping to get a miscarriage, but it never worked.

On family, the film brings out Ronaldo's feeling about his father who was a heavy drinker, a behavior that led to Ronaldo not knowing him; he passed on in 2005. According to Stuff, His elder brother Hugo is said to have taken up his father's addiction problem but he is now in recovery.

Ronaldo's son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr who is 5 years old and also starring in the film has a strong bond with his father and apart from doing pushups together or spending quality father-son moments, he wants to be a goalkeeper! The mother of Ronaldo's son is not mentioned nor seen in the film and it is amazing how a man of Ronaldo's stature could hide such information from the public for that long.

The rivalry between him and Leonel Messi could not miss in this film and Ronaldo is quoted saying that it was painful to see Messi win the Ballon d'Or 4 times and after seeing him win the second and third time he told himself he will not attend the ceremony again.

"Ronaldo" is highly anticipated by fans and critics alike and it is expected to do well on its first week.
