X-Men: Apocalypse is the ninth installment of the X-Men film franchise directed by Bryan Singer and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence.

The first ever glimpse of the new X-Men in action will be a side attraction to what is probably the biggest film of 2015.

As if another reason to watch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was needed, it has now been confirmed that the trailer of Fox's "X-Men: Apocalypse will debut in the movie, set for release on December 18.

Simon Kinberg, producer  and co-writer to Fox's Marvel properties (X-Men and Fantastic Four TV shows and movies) has confirmed to Collider that the trailer will premiere with the Lucasfilm-Disney epic.

"I can in fact confirm that information. Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it's certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it."

It has already been confirmed earlier on that Marvel Studio's "Captain America: Civil War" will also release their trailer on the Disney film, which was kind of a given since both films are under the Disney banner.

Fox has decided to do the same, as sci-fi movie franchise enthusiasts (and any movie fan for that matter) will turn up in droves to the theaters. Now, that will definitely mark December 18 as the biggest date in movies this year (if hasn't been declared that yet). The seventh chapter to the epic George Lucas saga and the trailer debuts of two of the biggest movies of 2016.

Screen Rant noted that the "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer was rumored to debut on "The Martian" but that has obviously been debunked.
