Xiaomi, the world's third largest smartphone maker, may be introducing its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi5.
Some reports said that Xiaomi might be launching its Mi5 during the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Sun Changxu, an analyst, said that the Xiaomi Mi5 will be a high-end smartphone, packing a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with 2K pixel resolution, a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 system-on-chip (SoC), an Adreno 430 graphics-processing-unit (GPU), and a camera with 20.7 megapixels.
The Xiaomi Mi5 is also rumored to feature a fingerprint scanner, but there has been no confirmation so far. It is also rumored to be priced at just $325.
A report from the International Data Corportaion (IDC) said that smartphone shipment from the Chinese smartphone firm ranked third in this year's Q3, putting it in the leagues of big multinational smartphone makers Apple and Samsung.
Xiaomi CEO and founder Lei Jun said that the firm is expected to be the largest smartphone maker in the world within the next five to 10 years.
The firm recently penetrated the international market as it entered 10 new countries, including Russia, Brazil and India.
Xiaomi also aims to increase its sales up to 100 million smartphone units in 2015, according to an April 23 Bloomberg news report.
Xiaomi also confirmed in mid-November that it will be investing around $300 million in iQiyi, a Chinese online video provider, to expand its Internet video sector.
