‘South Park’ Inspired Mindy Kaling’s Show ‘The Mindy Project’ Plus What Is ‘South Park’ s19e07 About

Mindy Kaling completed a Reddit AMA and her fans asked more than 500 questions. Apparently, her show "The Mindy Project" is inspired by "South Park." Meanwhile, "South Park" just aired Episode 7 of Season 19 and it addressed the police brutality issue and ISIS recruitment in the West.

"Who / what was your biggest inspiration for The Mindy Project?By the way, I love that damn show so much. Thank you," TheresNoMonday asked Kaling on Reddit AMA.

She responded and stated that "South Park" and "Pride & Prejudice" inspired her.

"Probably Pride & Prejudice and South Park? Bridget Jones a little. And of course I was inspired by the jokes-per-minute pace of The Office, since that's where I worked for eight years," Kaling answered.

Like "South Park," Kaling's show "The Mindy Project" is also on Hulu now and Kaling reveals that "Hulu let the writers and cast create the best version of it." "The creative freedom has allowed us to let moments breathe that we couldn't before, and tell stories that are closer to what I want to be telling."

Meanwhile, "South Park" Season 19, Episode 7 tackled the issue of police brutality that grappled the town of South Park.

P.C. Principal called the cops to take away a student who was talking during assembly. However, Officer Barbrady, who is known for incompetent, shot a 6-year-old Latino child.

Later, he was fired from the force and other cops refused to respond to 911 emergencies as they believed they are likely to lose their jobs. In the wake of no police force in South Park, the kids decided to be a part of a local ninja club. However, an ISIS recruiter took notice of them.
