Stephen Curry Better Than LeBron James As Reigning MVP Leads Warriors Undefeated Run

Despite winning the Most Valuable Player award and winning the NBA championship, Stephen Curry was still not considered as the best player in the NBA.

After nine straight wins and leading the NBA by a mile in scoring, there are some who believe that Curry may have closed whatever gap there is between him and James, as Business Insider said.

"Curry is the best player in the world and it doesn't look like anybody is coming for the championship belt anytime soon."

That's a strong statement and BI is by no means a lone voice in the wilderness with this message. Today's Fastbreak also mentioned that while we were busy debating if it's LeBron James, Anthony Davis or the returning Kevin Durant, Curry never stopped working.

There was no "championship hangover" and the point guard just went on to "grab the title without anyone noticing."

The Golden State Warriors are simply destroying every team in its path, the latest being the hapless Memphis Grizzlies who suffered their second defeat at the hands of the Warriors. Their first meeting, the Warriors demolished the "grit and grind" team by an embarrassing 50 points.

There would be critics who would argue that Curry is the beneficiary of the Warriors' system, but that's erroneous. It's actually the other way around: the Warriors have an efficient system because of Curry's shooting. "Small ball" would not work as well as it did if no.30 did not shoot the lights out and have defenders chasing him all the way out the three point line.

Also, with LeBron James recently complaining of back issues and deferring to Kevin Love, Kevin Durant getting injured again and Anthony Davis' team in an awful start, Stephen Curry is now the one who will create a gap between him and the rest of the league.
