United States President Barack Obama momentarily the host of The Colbert Report, a show hosted by political satirist Stephen Colbert.

In the U.S. president's third appearance, he took over for a segment of the show.

"You've been taking a lot of shots at my job, I've decided to take a shot at yours," said Obama before he took on the "The Word" segment, where Colbert usually says something about phrases or words that flashes to the right.

Obama said that it was easy as he would only be reading Colbert's script. He then started on the monologue regarding Obamacare, to which he asked how it would be stopped as the healthcare system was becoming more popular with the people.

Barack Obama has been appearing on shows similar to Colbert's to reach specific audiences.

"Young people don't watch real news shows like this one," said Obama.

After the segment, Barack Obama stepped down as the host as Stephen Colbert appeared to take his role. The U.S. president was then interviewed about recent issues, including nuclear launch codes, the Canadian Keystone XL pipeline and the president's new appointment of the secretary of defense.

Obama nominated Ash Carter to take the place of Chuck Hagel as the Secretary of Defense. The U.S. president then defended his move as it was "scrupulously within the law."
