Mozilla finally released a 64-bit version of Firefox for Windows.

Mozilla is entering another hostile region as it releases the Firefox browser on iOS. The browser will be compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices.

Firefox vice president Nick Nguyen posted on the company's official blog, "Firefox for iOS lets you take your favorite browser with you wherever you go with the Firefox features you already love."

Apple's built-in browser Safari is getting a lot of competition nowadays. Chrome has been on the platform for quite some time. Opera is also available on the platform, although it is not as popular as its rivals. Now, the newest thorn on Safari's side is Firefox.

Many people consider Firefox as a newcomer in the platform already dominated by Safari and Chrome. On the other hand, Firefox will not enter the foray without its own brand of features that might entice iOS users into switching to its browser.

Firefox has a feature that allows users to track all of its opened web pages using visual thumbnails. This is especially helpful when dealing with a lot of tabs when browsing and it allows users to easily jump into any recently opened page.

Firefox does not have its own proprietary search engine so it relies on third-party services. With Firefox on iOS, users can choose their own default search engine. Choices range from Google, Bing, Yahoo and Amazon, according to CNet.

With regards to security protocols, Firefox has an incognito browsing mode which does not save user browsing history or cookies. Deleting browsing history, passwords, auto-fill information and other private data can be done in just one tap. Firefox on iOS can also save web pages so that users can read or access them in offline mode.
