Walmart is launching Black Friday sales online at 12:01 a.m. PT on Thanksgiving, another way to reach a larger customer.
Physical stores will be open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving for Black Friday sales to take effect. In order to simplify the Black Friday in-store experience, both employees and fellow customers, the retailer company is also removing the staggered doorbusters it used to offer throughout the day. Instead, special sales will be available both online and in-store at the same time.
The retailer is pushing its app, probably because the app encourages customers not to wander to other sites. Walmart’s promotions for the Thanksgiving weekend, which include Black Friday, are focused on consumer electronics and related products, particularly televisions and movies, USA Today reported.
it brings back the one-hour guarantee, which requires that customers in certain parts of the store between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. are guaranteed special prices on five select products, including an iPad Air 2 ($399)and Beats headphones. If the customers were not able to receive the product in-store within the day, they will be able to get it for the discounted price before Christmas.
Among the products the Walmart heavily promotes include the following:
- 10 Televisions: A Roku 32-inch Class Smart HDTV for $125 (special buy), 40-inch Class HDTV for $149 (special buy) and Samsung 55-inch Class Curved Smart 4K UHD TV for $998.
- Over 100 video games: Price starts at $8 and for “NBA2K16,” “Madden 2016,” and “FIFA 2016” for Xbox One for $27 each.
