Android Marshmallow update was finally rolled out to the Google Play Edition of HTC One M8.

HTC's vice president Mo Versi confirmed the news of the roll out of this update for HTC One M8 Google Play Edition in a tweet. However, this is not the only HTC device to get this update; HTC One M9 is also about to be updated with the Android Marshmallow update in the coming days.

It is a known fact that the Google Play Edition of HTC One M8 is no longer supported under HTC. With that in mind, it came as a surprise for the users that the device did get the Android marshmallow update after all.

However, HTC One M8, the Google Play Edition does not work on the HTC UI Sense, so the updated version of Android Marshmallow will contain only Android based updates, according to Tech Times.

The HTC One M9, on the other hand, sports the HTC Sense UI, which will also be updated along with the Android Marshmallow OS.

This update will also fix the Stage Fright 2.0 vulnerability and the issues of overheating and touch lag, according to BGR. The material design will also receive many noticeable changes.

The Android Marshmallow update is a big one with a size of 450.4 MB. It will take up huge space in the device's storage space. Hence, the users are requested to make sure that their devices contain the required space for the update to be installed.

In addition, they must also make sure that their devices are charged to at least 50 percent before attempting to download and install the update.
