China, Kazakhstan Agree to Broaden Cooperation in High Technology, Aerospace

Chinese and Kazakh officials met on Sunday in Kazakh capital of Astana to discuss cooperation in high technology and enhancing China and Kazakhstan's collaborative works in aerospace, according to state news agency Xinhua.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang arrived in the capital on Sunday for a state visit and engage in a meeting among prime ministers organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

During the meeting, the premier issued a statement signed by both parties proclaiming that China and Kazakhstan have agreed to set up a technical cooperation.

This was after the officials recognized that the two countries can have a fruitful working relationship in the field of high technology, as well as in the enrichment and synthesis of scientific achievements.

The officials from both parties expressed optimism over a tightened partnership between their respective countries' organizations and businesses engaged in the field of high technology.

The statement also held in high regard the importance of forging cooperation in aerospace, with the countries agreeing to a joint research team tasked to explore mechanisms and determine the direction for the bilateral cooperation.
