Walmart, which is famous for its price-slashing Rollback specials has just announced it will sell an Android smartphone with a rock-bottom $10 price tag, which takes the crown for cheapest mobile phone from the $35 Firefox OS phone. The TracFone LG Lucky LG16 handset has old software and runs on a 2-year-old Android KitKat version instead of Marshmallow.  However, the specs are still better than the Apple iPhone 1, and the cost of an old DVD movie could make it a wise choice.

The cheap smartphone has a $9.82 price tag. It includes a 3.8-inch touchscreen display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and 3-megapixel rear camera (but no front-facing camera for selfies), according to BGR.

The LG smartphone has 4GB of storage on a microSD card and supports 3G Wi-Fi. This low-cost phone's operating system is Android 4.4 KitKat.

Motherboard has pointed out that the LG phone's specs are better than the original iPhone. It was launched in 2007.

In addition, the cheap smartphone could be used as a quintessential burner phone. It would also be a good choice for kids or seniors.

However, some tech experts have recommended other low-cost Android phones. Other options include the One Plus X ($250) and Motorola Moto E ($150), according to Mashable.

Walmart has sold out of the Lucky phone. However, the TracFone Sunrise L15G is an identical model with the same $10 price.

Walmart is also offering several Black Friday tech deals on the biggest shopping day of the year. They include Vizio TVs, Roku streaming boxes, and tablet computers.
