Adele Sends Sir Elton John Handwritten Apology Cards For Missing His Wedding With David Furnish

"Rolling In The Deep" hit maker Adele was happy for Sir Elton John for finally getting married with his long-time partner David Furnish. However, the 26-year-old British singer-songwriter and her family were not able to attend the big day so she sent cards him to apologize.

Over the weekend, John took to Instagram to show the "many kind thoughts and wishes" his friends sent to him, one which was a congratulatory message from Adele.

"Biggest congratulations my loves. Have a wonderful day. I'm sorry we are not there. See you in 2015. Love Adele, Simon and Angelo. x." Adele wrote signed from her, her boyfriend Simon Konecki and their two-year-old son Angelo.

After nine years of civil partnership, John, 67, and Furnish, 52, got married on Dec. 21, Sunday. This was nine months after England legalized same-sex marriage.

The ring bearers were the couple's two sons, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, who will be turn four this Christmas, and 23-month-old Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John.

Among the celebrities who were able to attend the wedding were "Don't" hit maker Ed Sheeran, David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham, according to New York Daily News.

John captioned a photo from the reception, "The tables look stunning! We had red roses at our Civil Partnership 9 years ago and they brought us so much luck. #ShareTheLove."

The legendary "Can't You Feel The Love Tonight" singer also shared a photo of him and Furnish signing their marriage papers with a caption, "That's the legal bit done. Now on to the ceremony! #ShareTheLove."
