Motorola has finally started the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on its Android 5.0.2 Lollipop-powered Moto G (2014) devices through a soak test.

The second generation Moto G (2014) will receive Google's latest Operating System, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update before the close of this year. According to Gotta Be Mobile, Moto G (2014) Android 6.0 Marshmallow update began on Nov. 22.

The report pointed out that some Moto G (2014) owners are already receiving update notifications, which will carry a 400MB upgrade from Lollipop to Marshmallow.

The site referred to Reddit posts to XDA, a famous community of Android ROM developers, that soak test has already commenced and official updates will roll out the soonest possible.

The current OS powering Moto G (2014), Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, has many bug fixes and security updates.

Given that the smartphone has not been updated to Android 5.1, Lollipop's first maintenance release, the gadget has been faced with minor bugs, software issues, battery drain, and memory leakage causing slow performance. Furthermore, the problems have led to involuntary shutdown of the device.

With the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, the device is receiving a one-time solution to the many problems caused by the current OS.

Concerning the reported final soak test, this stage will see the final round of testing the compatibility of the software to the device where real owners, a few selected members of the feedback community, will have the first upgrade.

According to Android Pit, Google's latest OS will hit Moto G (2014) device with many changes and enhancements from Lollipop, including performance, software, user interface, mobile payments, and battery life among other improvements.

The mobile developer company, Motorola, has also confirmed rolling out the update to some other devices under the Moto G, Droid, and Moto E lineup.  Watch the footage below on how to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Moto G (2014).
