"Empire" season 2 episode 9 is likely to primarily focus on the two sisters and their interpersonal relationships on the Fox's drama series since episode 8 ended with the appearance of Vivica A. Fox as Candice, Cookie's (Taraji P. Henson) estranged elder sister.
In "Empire" season 2 episode 9, which is set to be aired on Nov. 25, Wednesday, Cookie and Candice will be working on looking for their younger sister Carol (Tasha Smith) who has gone missing. The two sisters will be flying down to their home town of Philadelphia in the search.
Cookie will be shown approaching and asking the help from one of her former prison mates, a character that will be played by guest star Rosie O'Donnell, to help her find and rescue her sister.
As the episode progresses, the estranged sisters will rekindle their relationship in the wake of a family crisis and will get along pretty well with each other to find Carol, according to Christian Post.
Moreover, Cookie will discover that her toy boyfriend Laz (Adam Rodriguez) was involved with the gang that allegedly kidnapped Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray). The revelations will come at the point when Laz was getting serious with Cookie.
On the other hand, Anika (Grace Gealey) will confront Hakeem over her pregnancy and will force him to admit that he is in love with her. She was last seen in disguise as a blonde with Hakeem's current girlfriend Laura (Jamila Velazquez).
After landing a major sponsorship deal with Pepsi in episode 8, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) will be seen joining hands with another artist named Skye Summers (Alicia Keys) and the two will be shown singing together while sitting closely besides a piano.
"Empire" season 2 fans are yet to see if Cookie parts ways with Laz after learning the truth about his past.
