Born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, Eminem is a Grammy-winning Detroit rapper.

Eminem says he is gay in one of the most talked about celebrity cameos in the controversial Sony Pictures film "The Interview," which was released on Christmas Day amid terrorist threats from North Korea.

Appearing as himself in the film, Eminem admits to being homosexual and liking men in a one-on-one talk show interview with James Franco's character. The 42-year-old rapper said he has been gay peekaboo all along.

In the talk show scene, Eminem talks about things he is scared of, such as rapping about women, which he says is how he deals with his past issues with his mother and his former wife.

"Or, you know, when I say things about gay people and people think that my lyrics are homophobic, you know, it's because I'm gay," Eminem says leaving Franco's character and the show runner played by Seth Rogen flabbergasted.

"Eminem just said he was gay. Four times!" Rogen's character yells as their phones all start ringing causing chaos in the entire room. "This is the greatest moment in gay history!"

Meanwhile, Eminem and his protégé 50 Cent recently discussed how they met. In a mini-documentary published online by Complex magazine, the two rappers also talked about how their collaboration song "Patiently Waiting" was created.

In the video, Eminem said realized the potential for 50 Cent and Shady Records.

"At that point in time, I think we had found out he wasn't signed yet," Eminem said of his protégé.

Other artists Eminem has collaborated with are Rihanna for the songs "Love The Way You Lie" and "The Monster," Lil Wayne for "No Love" and most recently Sia Furler with the song "Guts Over Fear."
