Melissa Benoist is Supergirl.

A younger Superman is set to appear in the CBS television series "Supergirl" and his appearance is reportedly going to be series of flashbacks.

"Supergirl" will feature another iteration of the Man of Steel in 2016, according to TV Line. The publication said that the TV series was casting for a 13-year-old actor with "future leading man looks" to play the potential recurring role of young Clark Kent/ Kal-El.

According to the report, young Superman was set to debut in "Supergirl" season 1 episode 13 in an array of flashbacks that would set the foundation of his relationship with Kara.

The appearance of a younger Superman in "Supergirl" apparently does not connect with the series' current storyline. Kara had been stuck in a timeless black hole called the Phantom Zone, from the time Kal-El had been born until he had been a fully grown adult. The publication added that Kal-El had already had his Superman cape when Kara had finally arrived on Earth.

With young Superman establishing a bond with Kara, there are also rumors saying that the cousins would interact through Kara's dreams while the latter was stuck in the Phantom Zone. The flashbacks could also become a regular element of the series, with Clark Kent appearing throughout the season, according to Uproxx.

Meanwhile, Kara's duties were polarized in "Supergirl" season 1 episode 5, entitled "How Does She Do It?" In the episode, Kara needed to balance her time between handling Cat's son and protecting National City from a series of bombing. James also got problematic when his previous girlfriend Lucy sought to fix their relationship.

Kara is set to train with Red Tornado in "Supergirl" season 1 episode 6. The stress unleashes Kara potential while she trains with the military cyborg commission by Lucy's father, General Sam Lane. Also, Cat will be shaken when her judgmental mother, Katherine, visits her, while Alex enlists Winn to investigate the enigmatic death of her father.

"Supergirl" season 1 episode 5 "How Does She Do It?" aired on Nov. 23 while episode 6 "Red Faced" airs on Nov. 30.
