Retailers Open On Thanksgiving Evening, Starting Black Friday Sales Early

Big retailers like Target and Amazon are riding on the Thanksgiving shopping season in order to promote their respective mobile apps. The two companies are currently offering exclusive discounts and deals to customers who will shop through mobile apps rather than on the regular website.

Black Friday is the biggest shopping event of the year and big retailers will not miss their chance to cash in on the event. Traditionally, the Black Friday sales event is known of in-store discount while the Cyber Monday is reserve for exclusive online deals.

The explosion of the mobile market has greatly affected the way people usually shop on holiday seasons. Now, more and more people and are trying to avoid long queues and crazy crowds on shopping malls. Instead do their holiday shopping in the comforts of their home.

Retailers have understood this shift in shipping behavior and they are capitalizing on it. While most online shopping are done via a laptop or desktop computer, more and more customers are going mobile with their smartphones and tablets.

This year, Amazon is enticing consumers to use its shopping app by offering exclusive deals through it. Amazon customers who will use the app can avail massive discounts. According to The Verge, a 50-inch HDTV only costs $149 if purchased via Amazon app. The Amazon app is also offering mobile alerts and notifications for limited-time deals.

On the other hand, Target is giving out 10 percent additional discounts to customers who will use its app. The Best Buy app has a feature that allows user to call a salesperson directly at their store, according to Tech Times.
