China Social Assistance Foundation (CSAF) launched the China Child Rare Disease Aid Fund in China National Children's Center in Beijing on Dec. 26, 2014.

Considered to be the first special fund for minors with rare disease, the fund aims to help children with their sickness and at the same time establish a support system to boost their morale. Aside from this, it will also employ and give entrepreneurship assistance to the family members.

However, the fund's main goal is to investigate the source of the diseases, create policies and regulations, cooperate in the international research about the disease, and enhance social harmony among children afflicted with disease.

DeExpo President Zhang Yong donated 5,000,000 yuan ($804,531) on behalf of DeExpo.

Huang Rufang, Director of Chinese Organization for Rare Disorders, presented the patients' problems with the insufficient medical treatments and inept living conditions. He also shared brave stories of patients and volunteers, meaning to spread the inspiration.

Orphan disease is any disease that affects only a small percentage of the populace. Most of these diseases are genetic and affect patients as long as they live.

There are approximately six thousand to seven thousand rare diseases in the planet and China has approximately 10 million patients. With this, only 1 percent have cure.

Huang said: "We are not afraid of death but are reluctant to leave a nice life. We are not afraid of waiting but are in fear of no hope." He called on the government and the people to help those afflicted.
