Cambodia's Demining Authority Train Giant Rats To Detect Landmines

Amateur astronomer Joe White thinks that NASA's Curiosity Rover captured the image of a giant rat in Mars. He says the image of what appears to be a very large rodent in Gale Crater is seen sitting on a ridge.

But he does not discount the possibility that what he saw could also be an optical illusion. But he still is open to the possibility that it is a rodent that measures two to three feet in size because he and other people "have found rodents up there before," White insists.

He posted a video of the sighting on his YouTube channel, ArtAlienTV, on Nov. 11. So far, the video has more than 45,000 views.

In a play of words, the New York Post which reported White's sighting, notes that "Our moon might not be the only thing in outer space made of cheese." Other amateur astronomers in the past had insisted on seeing things in Mars commonly seen on Earth such as a doll's head, a thigh bone, a Buddha statue and a coffin.

However, in the comments section of YouTube, Pale Moon, in a tongue-in-cheek comment, adds that he sees a cockroach next to the rodent. TheKrazy agrees with the New York Post it is not a mouse because there is no cheese in Mars.

But Michael Hollier agrees with White that the rat is real, noting that "if you look close, you can see a giant martian cat gazing at it in the background between the rocks and all grass." Wall E. Coyote shares the same observation, pointing out that at 2:17 of the video, "on the left side of the image looks like a car in the crater watching 'the rodent.'"

John Townsend adds, "I think someone in NASA is having a laugh with you all." Just this week, a similar incident happened when astronaut Scott Kelly posted a photo taken at the International Space Station. Alien hunters immediately concluded that two lights on the upper right hand of the photo were lights coming from an extraterrestrial space craft. But NASA clarified it was the reflection on NASA's glass window of open lights of a lab at the ISS.
