Romain Jerome has unveiled a limited edition of Super Mario Bros. mechanical timepiece that marks the 30th anniversary of the plumber's adventures in style.

The luxury watchmaker created a pixelated graphics of Mario, a mushroom, and more, all with a 3D effect thanks to the enameled figures being slightly raised from the background. Mario himself makes an appearance on the watch face. He can be seen mid-leap and heading towards one of the iconic mushrooms.

The pixelated design really drives home the retro-gaming look. The Super Mario icons on the watch face are hand-painted and made from enamel, and the case is titanium. Only 85 timepieces will be made, making it almost as hard to obtain as a copy of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial for Atari, according to CNet

Super Mario Bros. mechanical timepiece functions on the base concept of mechanical RJ001-A automatic movement. The special edition watch features a 46mm case that is made out of black titanium, and the three-layer dial encases the enamel-coated pixel figurines. It operates at 4Hz (28,800 bph) with a 42-hour power reserve.

The sleek black look of the watch is really pretty subtle compared with most Super Mario merchandise, which tends to prominently feature the bright colors of the video game. The fancy Super Mario Bros. timepiece has a price tag of $18,950.

The retro-looking watch is an official collaboration between Romain Jerome and Nintendo. This is not the first watch that is based on popular video game. Romain Jerome has also created several video game-themed watches in its collaborations line, including timepieces with Space Invaders, Pac-Man, and Tetris designs, Slash Gear reported.
